Gift Vouchers

Legally gift vouchers are used in certain circumstances like exchange for goods. Gift voucher is used to purchase goods from retailers. There is no sense to have gift vouchers if the face value is greater than the money exchanged, so it is said that gift voucher is used in psychological manner. People mostly go for gift vouchers because it is more exciting than spending cash. You have to collect the gift voucher rather spending cash which you already have with you.

Most of the people use gift vouchers as it is the way of receiving gifts in exchange. Mostly people use these gift vouchers on luxury items and they use cash for grocery shopping. One more reason for use of gift voucher than cash is giver finds it preferable to make receiver feel that you are getting a gift not purchasing anything.

In some cases, money is exchanged for gift which is useless as that could be purchased by money itself. The person having gift vouchers have to use the vouchers in limited number of shops rather if you had money you can purchased things from any shop. Some gift voucher could not be used elsewhere but you have to purchase from the same store. In fact, one more demerit of gift voucher is they usually have expiry dates and you have to use them before the given date or they stay unused. You can even loose the gift voucher if the store runs out of business who had given those vouchers.

Gift vouchers are way to encourage customers to spend money. Gift vouchers also attract customers to come to the store. Customers are forced to purchase things without their requirements as voucher may expire in few days time.

There can be a problem for the retailer if a gift voucher does not have expiry date. Presumed if a gift voucher is lost years back and then a customer suddenly got it and expect to purchase things but the retailer is under loss then it might be hard for the retailer to provide gifts.

Gift vouchers for the receiver can be ungrateful if efforts made are less to provide gifts. Gift vouchers make you feel happy psychologically as you don't have to give cash.
